    At the third annual Rosemary Hale Lecture, Ernest A Johnson Professor of Economics Emeritus Rob Baade will present a talk titled, "Getting Into the Games: Is the Gamble on Sport as a Stimulus for Economic Development a Good Bet?" 

    An economics professor at Lake Forest College for nearly 50 years until his retirement in 2022, Dr. Baade was well known for his excellence in the classroom. He is internationally renowned for his seminal research on the economic impact of sports on local economies and has spoken at events for international sports organizations, such as FIFA and the International Olympic Committee, and at global sporting events, including multiple Olympic games.
